Residential Fire Determined to be Accidental in Nature
(SUMMER BROOK, ON) – May 31, 2012 – The Police Department has
determined the cause of a residential fire to be accidental in
nature.
On May 31, 2012, at approximately 9:52 a.m., Patrol Services and the
Fire Department responded to a report of a residential fire on
Laites Lane, Corner Brook. A resident of the four unit apartment
building had discovered the fire which was contained to the outside
area of the building. A Fire Investigator and Forensic
Identification member attended the scene and has determined the
cause of the fire to be accidental in nature. There were no injuries
received by the residents of this building and damages to the
property are considered to be minor.

Police Arrest Female for Theft, Mischief, and Breaches of a Court
Order
(SUMMER BROOK, ON) – May 4, 2012 – The Police Department has
arrested a 29 year female for Theft Under $5,000, Mischief to
Property, and Breaches of a Court Order.
Between the dates of April 24 and May 2, 2012, the Police Patrol
Services responded to four complaints of theft at three businesses
in the City of Summer Brook. It was reported that a female had been
responsible for the theft of products from these businesses. As a
result of the ensuing investigations; through video surveillance and
witness statements it was determined that the same female was
responsible for the thefts in each incident.
On May 3, Patrol Services arrested a 29 year old female resident of
Summer Brook for theses offences. She has been charged with four
counts of Theft Under $5,000, one count of Mischief to property and
four Breaches of a Court order. The female has been held in custody
for a court appearance later today.
