On June 26 of this year, United States Supreme Court by majority vote ruled that states could now establish guidelines to determine the criteria for exercising the right to vote. This decision has caused considerable concern for those involved in the fight for civil rights in the United States. This conference will consist of a discussion of the rise and the workings of thecivil rights movement in the 1940s, 50s and 60s. It will focus on the efforts to protect minority rights in public accommodations, voting, the justice system and in education. The conference wil conclude with a perspective on the current state and the future of the Movement.

S'adresse aux étudiants du Cégep seulement.

Coût 3 $.
